Once your claim is submitted and reviewed, HMRC's own timelines apply — typically several weeks. We'll keep you updated throughout.
Every claim is checked by a person before it's submitted, and we keep a full record of what was asked and answered — so if HMRC does query anything, we can respond properly. Occasionally, HMRC selects a claim for a more detailed "compliance check." If this happens to you, let us know straight away and we'll liaise directly with HMRC on your behalf until it's resolved — there's no charge for this.
It helps, but not everything needs a receipt. For boots and specialist equipment specifically, it's worth holding on to receipts where you can, since HMRC may ask for supporting evidence. We'll guide you through what's needed for each category during the interview.
If your claim doesn't result in a repayment, you don't pay a fee for the claims process. Where a claim is successful, our standard commission is 25% of the expenses reclaimed, and any money you're due back that's unrelated to our claim is paid to you in full — we don't take any commission on that. Every player's tax position is different, and fee arrangements can vary depending on individual circumstances, so it's always worth discussing your specific situation with us directly.
